Do you know how GBFW is planned?
There is a GBFW committee, made up of the executives of Grey and Bruce County Commodity Group Executives, and some other interested producers. Twice a year, this planning committee comes together.
In the Spring, the committee evaluates the completed January event. They review the evaluations, and discuss if any changes are required. During the latter part of the meeting they review/offer up possible ideas and speakers for the upcoming event.
After that Spring meeting, the Co-ordinators at Grey County Agricultural Services run with the ideas. They hunt high and low for speakers and panelists to deliver the topics suggested, and determine other timely topics as required. They also drum up sponsorship, fill the tradeshow with agribusiness, work with the caterers, order the food items, create promotional materials, and so much more.
In the Fall, there is a Planning Meeting for the upcoming January event. Everyone reviews the daily agendas, and gives a nod to the co-ordinators that everything is measuring up to the standards that are set for this amazing Agricultural Conference.
Grey Ag would like to thank all of the volunteers who attend these meetings. Grey Ag certainly appreciates everyone’s efforts!
